AMONG THE TREES

Among the Trees started taking shape in 2009 when I commenced working with palette knife and is based on walking in a forest, lost among the "vertical mass" of trunks and changing light. "Silence among the Trees" and "Among the Trees, winter" were painted with the intention to capture the solitude and silence.
The paintings depict a feeling of being stuck. I continued with the series, calling the new ones "Among the Palm Trees" that are a celebration of color and intense light.

“When Intertrust Middle East, a fiduciary services and law firm in the Kingdom of Bahrain, established their offices it provided an opportunity to acquire several pieces from Marianne Pasmans. Having known Marianne'as work, Elian Middle East looked forward to acquire some of her Among the (Palm) Trees pieces. Intertrust is renowned to support artists in their jurisdictions globally and we felt that her art work supports the contemporary concept of the Bahrain office very well. We continue to follow her work and wish her every succes in the future.”

“I've admired this painting for a long time and to be frank could not afford it until recently. This artwork has gone into the prime position in my lounge. The color & vibrancy exuded from the canvas create a fantastic backdrop for the theme of the room. The colors draw the eye. It is a pleasure to own and admire.”
